14A District Court — All Cities Except Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti Township

If you are being charged with a felony or misdemeanor in any city of Washtenaw County, except for Ann Arbor or Ypsilanti Township, your case will be heard at the 14A District Court. The 14A District Court has four branches and locations:

The 14A-1 District Court is located at 4133 Washtenaw Ann Arbor, MI 48108, the 14A-2 District Court is located at 415 W. Michigan Avenue, Ypsilanti, MI 48197, the 14A-3 District Court is located at 122 S. Main St. Chelsea, MI 48118, and the 14A-4 District Court is located at 1000 N. Maple Rd. Saline, MI 48176.

Cities that the 14A District Court includes are Ypsilanti, Saline, Dexter, Chelsea, Pittsfield Charter Township, Scio Township, Superior Township, Manchester, Dexter Township, Northfield Township, Salem, Manchester Township, Webster Township, Ann Arbor Charter Township, Lodi Township, Barton Hills, Augusta Charter Township, York Charter Township, Lima Township, Freedom Township, Sharon Township, Lyndon Township, Sylvan Township, Bridgewater and Saline Township. Depending upon which city you live in will determine of the four branches of the 14A District Court that your case will be heard.

If you are being charged with a misdemeanor you could face up to a year in the county jail. Common misdemeanor charges are domestic violence, assault, battery, retail fraud, DUI, OWI, drunk driving, drug offenses, marijuana offenses, disorderly conduct, and other commonly charged offenses.

If you are charged with a felony, such as felonious assault, embezzlement, drug offenses, criminal sexual conduct, homicide, or other felonies, your case will begin in the 14A District Court for an arraignment, a Probable Cause Conference, and then a Preliminary Exam. If the case is not dismissed, it will proceed to the Washtenaw County Trial Court
